In 1956, Wallace and Harrison McCain established McCain Foods Limited with the support of their two brothers, and built their first plant to produce frozen french fries. Today, from its world headquarters in Florenceville, New Brunswick where it all began, McCain Foods Limited operates more than 55 processing plants on six continents. It is the largest producer of french fries in the world and has a full product line ranging from fruit juice to appetizers. The McCain brothers have earned numerous awards and recognition for their business and philanthropic efforts including installation into the Order of Canada. Harrison McCain died in 2004 and Wallace McCain is now Chairman of Maple Leaf Foods and Vice Chairman of McCain Foods Limited.
