The general criteria for nominees to the
Canadian Manufacturing Hall of Fame are:
  • Must be a Canadian citizen by birth or naturalization
  • May be living or deceased
  • Contribution must be to a Canadian-based manufacturing entity whose innovation and solutions contribute significantly to the Canadian economy
Nomination Categories
Nominees will be evaluated with respect to their contribution in one or more of the following categories:
Founder: Demonstrates entrepreneurial, managerial and leadership skills and innovative strategy in launching and planning the founding and directing of a corporate entity.
Leadership: Builds the entity through assembly of an outstanding team to carry on the work of building a corporation; display of exemplary managerial capabilities in directing one or more corporations over a career involving management of change, revitalization, innovation, training of work forces, etc.
Innovator: Demonstrates technological advances by the development and/or implementation of one or more technologies or operating methods that have had profound impact on the firm and beyond.
Labour: Contributes to the development of creative or innovative and enduring labour-management structures, successful within one or more corporations leading to benefits for both the corporation and the employees.
Special Contribution: Outstanding contribution by an individual external to the industry in such areas as education or professional development, supportive public policies of government programs, communication and information.
